Vitishko spoke about the recent developments in his case and the decision of the court of December 20, 2013, which replaced his suspended sentence with three years’ imprisonment. At the time of the press conference there was no information on the date of examination of Vitishko’s complaint against this decision. Later there came information that the complaint would be considered on February 22, 2014. Since the case against Vitishko is political in nature, there is a hope that this decision will be changed only in connection with the international concern over the persecution of the Greens on the eve of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Na konferenciji su sudjelovali i članovi Ureda za YABLOKO stranke Boris Vishnevsky, zamjenik zakonodavne skupštine Sankt Peterburga, Olga Tsepilova, zamjenik predsjedatelja YABLOKO zelena Rusiji frakcija, i Andrei Rudomakha, koordinator udruge Sjevernom Kavkazu okoliša Gledati.
